I was at home, upstairs in one of the bedrooms, and alone in the house except for my housemate, A., who I had last seen in the office downstairs. I heard footseps in the main bedroom, and wondered momentarily if my other housemate (J.) had returned from being out and had brought her friends home with her. I went out in the hallway and peered around: no J. No one at all in fact. I went downstairs, noticed A. had not left the office at all, and I proceeded to go to the kitchen.

The next portion of the story was not actually witnessed by myself. It happened moments after I got downstairs and went into the kitchen. A. looked up from her seat in the office just in time to see a figure move past the door. She saw it move by but the only thing she saw clearly was the outline of a bare heel as the figure walked on by. Now, this could not have been me she saw as I was not barefoot, and the figure was moving *away* from the kitchen. A. got up and looked in the living room... no one was there. She walked into the kitchen, found me there, and announced, "Hmmm. I think we have a ghost."

It is interesting to note that a figure travelling in that direction, away from the kitchen past the doorway connecting the office to our living room, will land into a sofa and then face first into an exterior wall/corner within a stride. It is also interesting to note that that particular corner of the living room is a favorite for the cats to sit and stare at.

We felt no malevolence from the figure, and we were not afraid at all. I think whomever it might have been was just curious.
