No Ghosts in Here!

I've always been afraid of ghosts. When I was moving out on my own I made sure my place was brand new. I even jokingly asked the owner, who had lived there all his life if the apartment was haunted, "Nah! No ghosts in here!"
Nothing strange happened the first three months. One night though, I was up reading on my bed when the light turned off. The switch was down and I thought someone had broke into my apartment and tried to scare me. I finally gathered the courage to check around. No one there. The light did turn off didn't it? I put a little hook lock on my door, for my peace of mind. I went to sleep with my door locked.
When I awoke the light was on (switch up) and my door was open. Over the next few months, that would happen. It became routine and I didn't think about it (heheh). Then one day, I came home from work and all my stuff was thrown on the floor, nothing was broken and nothing was missing, but I called the police anyway. I asked them if anything ever happened in the apartment and they said no.
I was too shaken up to live there now so I started looking for new places to live. I still had to sleep there though. I had a dream that this figure of a man was standing in the hallway watching me while I slept, whispering for me not to go, that he was sorry, he just wanted some company. I woke up and my door was open and I heard someone walking in the hall! I ran out of there real fast and there wasn't anyone there. I asked the owner why the previous tenant had moved out and he said, "He didn't move out. He died."
I packed up all my things (not much) and moved into a hotel!
It was very expensive but I'd rather be broke then live in
an apartment with "no ghosts!"
